Effective: 31 August 2026

The essential boundary

Sawia helps you understand and plan. It does not hold, move or invest your money, and it does not make decisions for you.
Your records remain yours

You give us only the limited permission needed to operate Sawia.

Review every output

Imports, calculations and forecasts depend on records and assumptions.

Your decisions remain yours

Sawia is not a substitute for professional financial, tax or legal advice.

Please read this agreement

By creating a Sawia account or using the application, you agree to this user agreement and acknowledge the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Sawia.

1. Agreement and eligibility

This user agreement is between you and Glossynet Ltd, a company registered in Kenya and the operator of Sawia. "Sawia" means the Sawia websites, applications and related services.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use Sawia for an organisation or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so and to provide the relevant information.

2. What Sawia provides

Sawia is a personal wealth organisation, tracking and planning service. Features may include accounts, balances, cash flow, investment positions, goals, debt, plans, statement imports, exchange-rate references, forecasts, reports and educational explanations.

Sawia does not hold, receive, transfer, lend, insure or invest your money. It is not your bank, mobile-money provider, broker, fund manager, custodian or insurer. Naming an institution in Sawia does not connect Sawia to that institution unless a separate connection is clearly offered and authorised by you.

3. Information and planning tools, not advice

Sawia's calculations, forecasts, allocation views, Academy content and explanations are for information and personal planning. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and they are not an offer, recommendation or promise of a result.

Forecasts depend on assumptions such as returns, inflation, taxes, fees, contributions and exchange rates. Actual outcomes can be materially different. You remain responsible for your decisions and should obtain appropriately qualified advice when a decision requires it.

4. Your records, calculations and imports

You are responsible for checking that records, classifications, dates, account links and assumptions are accurate and appropriate for your purpose. Institution statements and official records remain more authoritative than a Sawia calculation or import.

Statement import wizards are best-effort tools. You must review a preview before saving it, especially account matches, transfers, reversals, balances and replacement dates. Do not upload or process a statement unless you are authorised to use it.

Public exchange rates and other market references may be delayed, incomplete or different from the rate available to you after a provider's spread and fees. Sawia will identify the source and date where practical, but you should verify important figures.

5. Your account and workspaces

Keep your email address current, choose a strong unique password, protect access to your devices and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless caused by Glossynet Ltd's failure to meet an applicable duty.

A workspace keeps related records and roles together. If sharing is available and you invite another person, that person may see or change information according to the role you grant. Workspace owners and administrators are responsible for reviewing access and removing it when no longer appropriate.

Sawia exports may contain an unencrypted copy of private financial records. Store downloaded files safely and share them only with people you trust.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Sawia unlawfully, fraudulently or to violate another person's rights;
  • access another account or workspace without permission;
  • upload malicious code or information you are not entitled to use;
  • interfere with, overload, probe or bypass Sawia's security or access controls;
  • misrepresent Sawia output as an official institution record or guaranteed result; or
  • copy, resell or exploit Sawia beyond the rights granted in this agreement, except where law permits it.

7. Ownership and permission to process your content

You retain ownership of the records, files and other content you provide. You give Glossynet Ltd a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, organise, calculate from, display and otherwise process that content only as needed to provide, secure and support Sawia, comply with law and exercise legal rights. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for lawful retention and temporary backup cycles.

Glossynet Ltd owns Sawia's software, design, brand, documentation and service content, excluding your content and third-party materials. We welcome suggestions. You allow us to use feedback without payment or obligation, but it does not give us ownership of your private financial records.

8. Third-party services and information

Sawia may rely on hosting, email, storage, public-data or other service providers, and may link to independent websites. Their products and content are governed by their own terms. Glossynet Ltd is responsible for choosing and managing its processors as required by law, but does not control independent institutions or guarantee their availability or information.

9. Availability, beta features and changes

We work to keep Sawia reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security events, provider outages or circumstances beyond reasonable control may affect the service. Keep independent copies of records you need.

Some features may be marked experimental, preview or beta. They may change or be withdrawn and should not be treated as the sole record for an important decision. We may improve, replace or stop features, but will give reasonable notice where a material change significantly affects stored records or paid access.

10. Fees

Sawia may offer free and paid features. Before charging you, we will clearly disclose the price, billing period, applicable taxes, renewal terms and how to cancel. A separate offer or order may add terms for a paid service. We will not introduce a charge merely through an update to this agreement.

11. Suspension and ending use

You may stop using Sawia and request account closure. Export any records you wish to keep before closure. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful activity, serious misuse, non-payment or a material breach of this agreement. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve it.

On closure, we handle personal data according to the privacy policy. Terms that by their nature should continue after closure. These include ownership, lawful retention, disclaimers and dispute terms.

12. Responsibility, disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sawia is provided on an "as available" basis. Glossynet Ltd does not guarantee the accuracy of information you provide, third-party data, imported classifications, forecasts or investment outcomes.

Glossynet Ltd is not responsible for a loss caused by your financial decision, an inaccurate or incomplete record, an institution's act, or unauthorised sharing of a downloaded export, except to the extent the loss was directly caused by our breach of a legal duty or this agreement.

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in this agreement excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer and data-protection rights, fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Changes, disputes and Kenyan law

We may update this agreement as Sawia develops or the law changes. We will publish the revised agreement with a new effective date and give reasonable advance notice of a material change. If you do not agree, you may stop using Sawia before the change takes effect.

This agreement is governed by the laws of Kenya. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a dispute fairly. If it cannot be resolved, either party may use the courts of competent jurisdiction in Kenya. Mandatory consumer rights and rights to complain to a regulator remain unaffected.

If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay effective. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. This agreement, the privacy policy and any specific paid-service terms form the agreement for your use of Sawia.
